Residential Bed Bug Inspections
Prevention of infestation: Let’s say you went on vacation, and during which you had a run-in (or suspected a run-in) with bed bugs. As soon as you get back on the island, you can isolate your luggage and bring it to our shop where we can perform a K9 inspection on your bags to help you prevent bringing any unwanted visitors home with you! In fact, if the bags test positive, we can treat them over night with our fumigation chamber or in just a few hours with our heat chamber.
In addition, second-hand furniture is one of the most common ways that bed bugs are brought into the home. Before risking your home to these biting bugs, have our canines inspect your items before you even bring them into your home! The best part about it is with our chambers, we can treat anything that is infested! Now of course, there's nothing you can do to prevent bed bugs 100%, but there’s a lot you can do to help.
Confirmation of infestation: What if it’s too late? You brought that luggage home or that sofa. Confirmation of elimination: Now, what if you had bed bugs before, but you just can’t rest until you KNOW they are gone? Many people, as many as 50% of the population, may not react to bites. We can put your mind at ease by bringing our K9 team to your house to see if there is anything left. Our canines can detect as little as one bug in your entire home. After all, eliminating almost all the bugs is NOT the same as eliminating them all! Bed bugs in your hotel, hospital, or business can be a nightmare. You need something done quicky and discreetly. Canine scent detection is perfect for this need. Our canines can inspect a hotel room in just a few minutes and can accurately (97%) confirm the presence or absence of bed bugs. Our small dogs ride in a stroller and our handlers wear uniforms and drive cars that never mention bugs or pest control. Your business is our business, your customers are our customers. Proactive Bed Bug Inspections: Oftentimes customers want to "proactively" look for bed bugs. This means that there is no complaint about bed bugs, no suspicion of bugs, but they want just random checks of rooms and other areas. In these inspections, we are looking to find low level infestations as soon as they come in: before they have a chance to spread or grow into larger problems. The key here is that we can find the bugs before they have a change to bother your guests. Not only will you will be able to avoid a situation where your customer is getting bitten, but you can also avoid spreading the problem to more areas. In addition, when part of a written bed bug program, these proactive searches may decrease the ability for someone to win a negligence claim against your facility!
Confirmation Of Bed Bug Infestation: Confirmation of infestation works in two different ways. For instance, let’s take a common guest complaint. They claim they are “being eaten alive” by something in their hotel room, complaining they think your hotel has bed bugs. One of our canines can search the room and in a matter of minutes and can determine whether or not there are actually bed bugs. Sometimes we do in fact find bed bugs, and our client can move the guest to a different room, give them a discount, or do whatever their policy is when bed bugs are discovered in their hotel. Other times we find that there are no bed bugs. When this happens, the handler will do a visual check of the room. Sometimes we find different insects such as ants or termites. Other times we find what looks like it could be old evidence from a previous infestation, (these days most people are checking their hotel room for signs of bed bugs!) although there is no active infestation. And sometimes, we find nothing at all! Everyone reacts to bed bug bites differently; some people take days or even weeks to react to a bite. So it is possible that they got bit at another facility and now they are blaming you. Worst of all, sometimes people just want something free and will make up a bed bug claim to try and get something out of it. That is where Scout and Ally are invaluable. Not only can they confirm that your room doesn’t have bed bugs, but they can also defend you in what could turn out to be a legal battle.
Confirmation Of Bed Bug Elimination: You could never really be sure that a previously infested room was safe to rent out, until now.
